As "social" handicapping systems, they are
designed for the scoring of 1-off events, so the score
and handicap calculated for the player are not carried
forward to subsequent rounds. Some of the scoring systems,
such as Stableford for example, do require that the
player has a commencing handicap as it is used in the
calculation of the result of the round.
Players can be entered into competitions ahead of the
competition date, and multiple competitions can be opened
within the system. Competitions together with their
players and results may be held in the system indefinately.
An important and very useful feature of the system
is its ability to "team" players together
and run a team tournament in conjunction with an individual
tournament. Competition results can be produced for
both the individual and team events. Team results can
be based upon the team average scores (gross or net),
or can use the average of the best and worst scores
per hole, the 2 best scores, or the best and 3rd best.
Combining the team and individual results reports, the
system has close to 30 different methods of producing
results for a tournament.
Golf Tournament Handicapping is a Windows application,
so offers a friendly graphical environment in which
to operate. It can be supplied via e-mail, or sent on
CD-ROM.
